Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grama Jyothi Scheme (DDUGJY)

The central government has implemented a project called “DDUGJY” to provide continuous power supply to rural area.

 

The scheme covers components such as;

  1. Strengthening and augmentation of sub-transmission & distribution (ST&D) infrastructure including metering.

  2. Rural electrification

  3. Electrification of un-electrified households.

  4. Feeder separation

  5. Saansad Adarsh Gram Yojana (SAGY).

 

Rural Electrification Corporation (REC) New Delhi is the nodal agency for the implementation of this project. 

 

REC has conveyed Financial Assistance of Rs. 332.12 Crores in July -2017 as Project cost for seven districts Dharwad, Gadag, Haveri, Uttarkannada, Belagavi, Vijaypura and Bagalkot of HESCOM jurisdiction.

 

Currently, the electrification of all the 30 Un-Electrified Villages, electrification of 86633 Nos of households and Replacement of 4,33,299 Nos of Electromechanical/High precision Meters by Electrostatic meters is completed.
